to become familiar with international human rights law, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).<\/p>\n<p>So, what does ISO 26000 say about what organizations should do to respect, protect, and fulfill human rights? The Guide identifies eight issues that should be considered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #523f6b;\"><strong><em>Due diligence:<\/em><\/strong> <\/span>ISO 26000 recommends <span style=\"color: #30bb9f;\"><strong>to ensure that an organization&#039;s decision-making and activities do not have negative impacts on human rights.<\/strong><\/span> This implies not only ensuring compliance within the organization and in its relationships with others, but also <span style=\"color: #30bb9f;\"><strong>to influence the behavior of third parties to satisfy these rights.<\/strong><span style=\"color: #cc99ff;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:5px;margin-bottom:5px;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-dotted\" <u>civil and political<\/u> and do everything in their power to respect them and, if possible, guarantee them<\/span>.<\/strong> Some of these rights are: freedom of opinion, freedom of assembly, and
